As social media users noted there were children in the park at the time.

The video has been viewed over 51 million times. Once posted on social media, tens of thousands commented expressing their confusion at the whole thing.
One wrote: “Wait so after their done do they just lift the blanket carry on living like nothing happened ignoring the fact that everyone was watching.”
Another wrote: “Why did I think it was some sort of performance art.”
Battery Park NYC Incident
Battery Park is a public park located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island in New York City facing New York Harbour.
S€xual activity in public is illegal throughout the US, but states differ on what constitutes illegal public nudity, both in terms of what body parts are considered “indecent” and whether that state must prove that a defendant had a particular intent.
It’s unclear whether the people were actually having s€x, or what their relationship is or was.
